Grey Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicarius) [1st winter], Water Treatment Works, Thorn Rd, Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, 13/12/2012. Very distant, record shot. The little Phalarope is swimming near the female Gadwall (I think it is). My first sighting of this fidgety, small species - it didn't stop bobbing and swimming and moving. It's behaviour was noticeably different to the more serene gulls and ducks!
